Biographie
Carlos D'Alessio was born in Argentina in 1934 and died of AIDS in 1992. Musical from an early age, his parents discouraged him from pursuing it, which he did secretly. After studying architecture, he left his oppressive family in Argentina and devoted himself to music, spending time in New York, London, Spain, and finally settling in Paris, where he established himself as a composer for film and theater. He is perhaps best known for his long collaboration with writer/film maker Marguerite Duras. His final work for film was Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Delicatessen.
